We want to wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day, and we hope that you’ll try some of the special drinks we presented to you over the past couple of days. If none of those grabbed you, here are a few more that we think you might like:
A little while ago, we published this guide to various sparkling wines at all price points, and the advice is as good for Valentine’s as it was for New Year’s. When it comes to celebrating, nothing works like bubbles.
Between the Sheets
Because it’s delicious, and the name says it all.
Holland Razor Blade
A beautifully simple Genever Sour with just a pinch of cayenne pepper to heat things up. Lesley says that, on Valentine’s Day, it’s especially important to ignore the “razor blade” portion of the drink’s name.
This one takes its name from an old “male enhancement” procedure, but the drink is libel to do you more good than the operation.
The “I do” Cocktail
I made this one up for my bride, and therefore, it screams hugs and kisses.
Should you prefer love that is more biting, might we suggest this little treat named after the famous hotel and the Vicious Circle which called it home away from home.
Most importantly, let’s all be safe out there and take the advice of Dorothy Parker to heart:
“I like to have a martini,
Two at the very most.
After three I’m under the table,
after four I’m under my host.”
